I have seen this behavior as well. I have found that if Process Explorer is left running, its memory footprint grows indefinitely until at some point the BSOD occurs. This has happened with many versions of Process Explorer.

We are on the verge of banning it from all production environments, but it is a very useful tool, if only it weren't dangerous!
Is there a version which has included a resolution to this dangerous behavior?
