Because I cannot find a decent alternative I made some whois.exe zip package by myself. I use the cygwin whois.exe and some cygwin dll's.
I created a 64 bits zip package. Extract the files in the same folder and run whois.exe
For anyone who is interested you can find the zip package here
I hope the sysinternals whois.exe is fixed in the near future but in the meanwhile this also work for me.
