I've  just updated psexec from version 1.98 to 2.10 due to it's communication encryption feature.
But with 2.10 I can't start a remote process as an interactive process.
This means the remote process is started, but it is not interactive.
My intended use was to take a screenshot with nircmd: psexec 1.98 does the job, 2.10 only provides a black image.

The bahavior can be reproduced by starting a command prompt interactively:
psexec \\host /i cmd
Result:
  • 1.98 starts the command prompt on host, it is visible there on the host and you can interact with it on the host.
  • 2.10 starts the command prompt on host, but it is not visible at all. If you find the process with tasklist and kill it, psexec returns.
It makes no difference, whether I pass a user with /u or provide a working directory or not.
The machines on both sides are running Windows XP.

Has anyone the same problem?
Has anyone found a work around or do we have to wait for an updated version of psexec?

Thank you for supporting.

Try psexec \\host -i cmd /k
