Subject: Tracking access to file

Hi all,
Hopefully I am posting this in the right place, I apologize if I am not.
My problem is that I have a process that runs at 12:30AM which is a backup of databases. When the process runs, it does not delete all the files. This doesn't happen every day and seems to be random. I believe that there is something accessing the file that doesn't get deleted. I know that I can use procexplorer to find the handles that are accessing a certain file, but I never know when the backup is going to finish. I have found from research that it doesn't seem possible to log procexplorer. Is there anyway I can get it to run and capture the data I need several times without user interaction?
