Perhaps you misunderstood the issues addressed here.
The point is W8 can't open .hlp files.
They (MS) provided a HLP file reader that brought it up-to-date. It wasn't terribly easy to find.
Many posted here asking for help. Help has been provided.
Now everyone has the chance to avoid countless hours searching for ways to open HLP files -- even the ones in Sysinternals Suite.![Hug]( "Hug")
