Troubleshooting : Windows 7 Welcome Screen too long

Thanks.  I'll try this over the weekend. 

However I see I have to install Win 8 SDK (I'm on 7).  And it's a 200 meg download.
And it is telling me I need to install even more MS stuff (.NET and who knows what else). 

So I am looking at this as the examination tools possibly causing more problems.

Ah well.  Hopefully, I'll have the file in a few days.
