Process Explorer : System n/a - Path n/a

The SYSTEM process is a very special process, if it can be legitimately called a process at all. It is certainly unlike any other. Some of the columns in Process Explorer don't have any real meaning with the SYSTEM process unless they are arbitrarily assigned - something which Process Explorer usually does not do.

With Vista and later an admin level account by default does not have full time administrative rights. It has only the rights of a limited user and Process Explorer inherits those rights. Such a limited account does not have the rights to access the account name for most system processes such as SYSTEM. If you select "Show Details for All Processes" in the file menu then Process Explorer will be restarted with an elevated account. It will then be able to access this information.
