I am not fully understanding your requirement to "calculate the commited size".

An application will request to reserve a block of memory based on what the programmer defined.

During execution, the windows system will "commit" memory to the application based on what is immediately used.
so I do not understand how you can "calculate" it ahead of time.

it seems that the reserved block of memory is the only piece of information that can be known at the time of application execution, then any further memory usage is based on what the user/application is caused to perform.

......have you looked at using "performance monitor" and setting up a "data collector set"

this is NOT a command line tool.

From what I am reading, the tool can monitor a process for many memory related aspect, including an applications committed memory usage.  An alert level can be set and based on that alert level, Performance monitor is then able output the results to an event log file.

maybe another forum member with more experience using performance monitor can describe in detail how performance monitor can be of use.
