I'm talking about network jitter, of course.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jitter

Jitter may be caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI) and crosstalk with carriers of other signals. Jitter can cause a display monitor to flicker, affect the performance of processors in personal computers, introduce clicks or other undesired effects in audio signals, and loss of transmitted data between network devices.

Crosstalk, click in audio signals, Display monitor flicker, and last to be listed, loss of transmitted data between network devices. Based on your further description, you meant Network Jitter. This I would call Numeric or Statistical in nature, which is what I stated in my original query. Given your original question regarding redirection and viewing by eyes only, I surmised this may be a visual 'jitter' you may be describing. I was wrong.

Given the statistical nature of your problem, a scientific measurement would be needed to identify why redirecting to 2>NUL impacts the results. Since you have 'moved' to another product that is not possible or desirable.

Good luck.
