Subject: disk2vhd does not finish

I used disk2vhd to create a VHD from a non-system disk with about 218 GB on it. The O/S was Win7 x64 and the target VHD file was on a USB external drive. The VHD file got created but disk2vhd just stopped at the end without indicating completion and the status indicated that the VHD copy operation was still in progress. The progress bar was at the very end without the heartbeat visual effect that indicates it is being updated and the process status showed that no I/O was occurring. I left it like this for several hours and there was no further writes to the file. Eventually I just closed disk2vhd to terminate it. The VHD file mounts correctly but I'm left wondering if the copy operation did indeed complete. I tried this three times on the same source disk with the same results each time.
