I'm running win7 pro...I notice that on autoruns, under drivers, there is an entry for mrxsmb10...following the recent advice to disable this, could this be done via autoruns with this entry?
I'm a little reluctant to experiment with drivers  in case this screws anything up when I reboot.

After the crash, I restart Autoruns, enable the entry, try deleting it again, and it works fine! Ermm

There are many software vendors in the market which provide you such recovery solutions with free demo/trial version. But before you can purchase any such paid solution, you should try few easy manual tricks which are as effective as a professional recovery solution. Refer to this blog post for detailed information - Few Easy Tips & Tricks to Repair Excel File Manually | N. Sem's Blog
  • First you should try Open and Repair, built-in repair feature to repair Excel file.
  • Extract data of the chart from a corrupted spreadsheet by using a Macro.
  • Recover data from corrupt Excel file by using SYLK (symbolic) format.
Thanks and best regards.

Process Explorer : How do I "Set Priority" permanently?

Or what I should say is how do I set it to a higher priority and make that setting stick.

Right now I wish to allocate more memory to the Alps touchpad processes to a higher level, but when I reboot and check those processes again, they revert back to what they once were.  The change I make to them doesn't seem to stick.

I'd like to go from Normal: 8 to Above Normal: 10 or above.  Is there a way this setting can be saved?

Thank you

Hi,

I've just seen Mark's announcement 16 May about a new release of Sysinternals Stuff, so I downloaded
the 21.3 Mbyte suite offered for 16 May, expanded it on my machine, and it appears to contain a February 2017
collection, not the new May 2017 items.  have just pulled it again this morning (UK time) and it's the same as last night

I've pulled Process explorer from the "live" service and it is the new 16.21 as expected,

Hi!

Do you guys have time to assist me on this problem?

I'm getting bad performance on one of my servers and it's behavior is high interrupts. Sometimes allocation around 80% of cpu capacity. The server is running an application named Qlikview which process is very intensive.

I record some data with WER during this state and it points to ntoskrnl.exe. One shows weight on qvb.exe and another to idle.  See screenshots below.

Ran the command xperf.exe" -on PROC_THREAD+LOADER+PROFILE+INTERRUPT+DPC+DISPATCHER+CSwitch -stackwalk Profile+CSwitch+ReadyThread -buffersize 1024 -MaxFile 1024 -FileMode Circular && timeout -1 && "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Windows Performance Toolkit\xperf.exe" -d DPCISR.etl

Here's the output.  https://pastebin.com/YjCkGACx

Any ideas? Thanks!

/Harry

I am trying to get sysmon configure on a few systems.  I only get a event ID of 1,2,5, and 6.  I am looking to get sysmon to log registry changes and file creation as well.  When I installed, I took the defaults, When I make registry change manually I don't get anything in sysmon for events 11-14.  What options do I need to install with to get sysmon configure correctly?

I previously had 16.20.0.0.  I downloaded 16.21.0.0 and extracted the files into a folder.  However, when I ran it, it still said that the version was 16.20.0.0.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks
