Subject: Utility to Replace Partition Volume Info?

Question:
Is there a utility or a process which might replace the Volume information on a partition which has had it Volume information removed. Currently the only way I know to do so is to change the Partition Type ID to a normal data partition. Then reboot the system and change the Type ID back to a Recovery ID and the GPT attributes back to the 0x8000000000000001 designation.....
Situation:
When the Windows 8 to 8.1 update was originally released, the normal UEFI 300 MB Recovery partition was not large enough to allow Volume Shadow copies to be created since there was not 50 MB of free space. In the case of a System Image Backup, the process would fail, so something needed to be done to increase the size of the original Recovery partition.
Later in the process, Microsoft started adding a second 350 MB Recovery partition, which solved the problem for most folks, but not all. Those having OEM machines with larger Recovery partitions, still encountered the problem even with the 350 MB partition.
To solve both of these problems, a third party partitioning software was necessary to move some partitions and change the size on the Recovery partition. One of those was EaseUS partition management software, which seems to create another problem on UEFI installs. I have verified the problem with testing, but for some reason, the partitioning software removes the Volume information on the Recovery partitions and leaves them designated as "OEM" partitions. The Reagentc utility will no longer function and the Recovery system is inoperable.
Thanks for your time... I could not find a resolution in any of Mark's books.![Wink Wink]()
